Glass tempering machinery and furnaces

The Keraglass offering of glass tempering machines includes several furnaces developed in accordance with innovative design principles.

Vision

The Keraglass Vision line of oscillating flat glass tempering furnaces is based on several key concepts: minimisation of heat losses; optimisation of energy usage for heating; elimination of energy wastage in the tempering phase; achievement of high optical quality of the tempered glass. The furnaces are ideal for companies with high quality standards and are compatible with all application sectors. A highly effective convection system above and below the rollers makes it possible to temper the latest generation of 0.01 mm Low-E glass. The furnaces feature a high pressure turbine with filtered air that removes the need to use the compressed air system.

Thermal insulation of the heating chamber is composed of insulating panels tested up to 1250°C to improve energy consumption and heating uniformity: all internal walls are clad with Cordierite refractory slabs that prevent fibre particle dispersion in the furnace. The rollers drive train features precision toothed belt drives; the upper and lower direct filament elements, guaranteed for 8 years, are managed by an advanced control system to optimise energy consumption. Simple and intuitive supervision is assured by a dedicated PLC and innovative plant management software, preventive maintenance, a digital instruction manual with troubleshooting guide; storage of data from control instrumentation and interconnection with all types of external systems guarantees full compliance with Industry 4.0 requirements. The tempering quenches and cooling blowers have an internal and external surface coating applied with a cataphoretic treatment that provides exceptional durability and constant cleanliness over time, eliminating oxidation problems; blower movements are independent, with automatic set-up to assist the operator in making corrections. The area below the blowers is equipped with an automatic fragments conveyor with a metal mesh belt. The fans are driven by DC motors. An optional independent “pass-through quench” system makes it possible to improve the tempered glass quality and reduce energy consumption for low thicknesses; the addition of the 3rd fan allows tempering of 3 mm and 2.8 mm thick sheets with a full furnace load. The plant is also equipped with an emergency system designated UPS control energy h24 to stabilise the input voltage and safeguard furnace loads during power outages.

Visionbend

The Visionbend line of monodirectional and bidirectional bending and tempering furnaces is composed of machines capable of producing tempered curved glass, based on the use of the press–mould group for both cylindrical and spherical bending with absolute precision and repeatability of operations. Due to these characteristics, the machines can meet glass requirements for the refrigeration, home appliances, and automotive sectors. Thanks to a bidirectional system, the plant can temper flat glass and bent glass, optimising use of the same heating chamber and fans unit. The 1250°C insulated heating chamber provides uniform heating with low energy consumption. The heating chamber lower elements are shielded by stainless steel panels for uniform heating and total protection. The plant and control instrumentation are managed by dedicated software. The rollers drive train features precision toothed belt drives. The plant is also equipped with an emergency system designated UPS control energy h24 to stabilise the input voltage and safeguard furnace loads during power outages.
